Apple and Pumpkin Shennanigans

Another week gone by. I apologize for not posting more often, but without wireless 24/7 and a phone that has apps and such, getting on the computer to actually do things is such a hassle.  Besides, I’m boring so it’s no big deal. But this weekend it sure won’t be, since I’ll be at the Foodbuzz Festival again in San Francisco! I’m excited to go again for the third year in a row!

Ok, besides that excitement coming up, I’ve had some the past few days at home! I went to visit a good friend of mine from work last week for a few days and we found some time to break out our kid sides and carve a pumpkin.

We took turns digging out the eyes, nose and mouth and were surprised how good it came out!

I returned home for the weekend and was excited to go apple picking with my family up in the mountains near Oak Glen, which we haven’t done in several years! Little did we know there was some event going on up there because it was so crazy crowded! We have never seen so many people up there as we did this weekend, but we got our raspberries, apples and cider donuts so we were happy campers!

Seriously, best donuts ever. I really missed getting those every fall in the mountains. Couldn’t have picked a better weekend destination with the family!

Your pumpkin looks angry, hehe. I like it though. Looks like you had a great time with the family. One of my friends is trying to find the cider donuts here and none of us can find them!

My friend wanted to make it look angry, scare away all the nutty kids in her neighborhood. I hope you find the cider donuts!

Oh wow, I miss apple picking and cider donuts! I’m getting carving pumpkins in my CSA box this week, and I’m super excited to carve them up, stick candles inside, and set them on my front steps.

    • Melissa says:

Oh man, I wish I still had my CSA box so I could get pumpkins like that!

And great job on your marathon this weekend! I hope you feel great today!
