Close-up, Sign, and Hat

4 June: Close-up

Of some some sort of lizard, that decided to crawl up a fellow biologist’s pants.  Quite funny.

I thought this would be an awesome close up. I wish I could make it even more up close so I could make you try and guess what it was, but my camera isn’t that good.  Oh well, close up of…wait, do you know!?  Take a guess!

5 June: Sign

I didn’t get one yesterday…well, I did, but it’s an official work sign and technically I’m not allowed to post it.  Boo.  I didn’t realize it until after I took the photo.

6 June: Hat

Everyday for work…

Sexy right?  Haha…where is my fiddora when I want to take a picture of a hat!!!??? I can’t wait to wear it all weekend this weekend when I’m in San Diego at the beach.  Oh yeah.  Can you say hipster?!

Things are starting to get a little crazy around here.  I’m wrapping up my second to last week of work and trying to spend as much time with my work friends as possible.  I’m also starting to basically break the bank and buy all the expensive things like plane tickets, electronics (Which I’ve meant to ask, suggestions from anyone on tablets? Or mini laptops? I don’t want to take my full one because being in the environment I’ve been in is not ideal), etc. for this Peru trip.  I can’t believe how fast time is flying and I’m going to be leaving the country for almost three months!  So crazy to think about!  I’m still kind of in shock that I’m going but as it gets closer I’m getting more and more nervous!  Eek!

But in other news, my hip is actually cooperating and I’ve been able to run for the past few days since last week and it feels GREAT!  I can’t even begin to explain how freeing and anxiety ridding running is for me….ah, the freedom it gives me!  Yay!

Off to…get stuff done!

I don’t know much about the different tablets, but my parents have a mini laptop that they take on trips which works quite well. It’s an E-PC, but I know there are 3-4 different brands of them out there. A laptop might be a better one to go with because you’ll be able to close the top and protect the screen and keyboard, whereas with a tablet, you can’t (although you can buy covers for tablets, it’s not the same as a hard cover).

  2. Love all of your pictures! I’m guessing the close-up is of a cactus and/or prickly pear? :)

Your hat is awesome. I am jealous that you will be in San Diego this weekend. Wave hi to my nieces for me!

And SO glad to hear that your hip has been feeling well enough to run a couple of days! That is fantastic news!

Yep, it’s a cactus and probably a prickly pear but I’m not sure…I took the picture quickly without letting everyone see it. haha!

I have a (pink) dell mini netbook and really it does everything I need and it was cheap ~200 at walmart

It’s been ages since I caught up on your blog!! I can’t believe you are almost off on your next adventure! Peru is sure to be such an amazing experience :) I’ve been thinking about getting a tablet lately as well. My sister and her husband used a Samsung when they went away for their honeymoon, and they had no problems at all. Not sure what is available in your hemisphere though :)
