I Am Insane. Really.

I tried to be the blogger I used to be this weekend, taking photos of all my foods…but I failed miserably.  Ok, yesterday wasn’t too bad, but today, I got absolutely nothing! I blame the fact that I was in the field for over 11 hours today…yay field work!

Anyways, there are many things that are going on this month for me and I wanted to finally share them all with you!  First of all, as the title describes, I’m about to go insane.  Or try Insanity to be more precise.

Bobbi has become a Beach Body Coach and asked me if I’d like to join her in on a challenge, like I did back in December with her Holiday Shred.  I’m pretty stoked to see how differently this workout works my body since I’m still on the bench as far as running goes.  Maybe this will help strengthen my hips so I can get back to running afterwards!  I bought the whole package for the workout which also includes a meal plan and some shakeology drinks which I plan on using, but probably not as I’m supposed to.  Working a field job entails a whole different mentality when it comes to eating to fuel the body, along with doing these workouts on top of it all.  Our challenge starts on the 12th of this month and I’ll be doing some before and after pictures, along with measurements to see how it goes!

Another thing I’m excited about for this month is what I have been taking part in since it started, World Wildlife Fund’s Earth Hour.  Every year on March 31st, they are asking people to pledge to turn off their lights at 8:30pm to send a message about making a change for climate change.

I encourage everyone to take part in this earth wide environmental movement. It is so simple and I really hope you decide to pledge and partake!

On top of Earth Hour to help the planet, I am also taking part in Amanda’s Vegan Challenge for the month!  I am almost there give or take a few eggs and M&M’s so I figured what better than take it on as a challenge to really push myself to the full on capacity of helping the planet!  You can still join in on the challenge and I encourage you to try!  I have not had a piece of meat in almost 9 years and I don’t regret it for a second!  It helps open up your mind to so many different types of foods and helps you realize what real food really does for your body!  Good luck if you decide to join, and I would love to hear about it!

So that’s what’s going on for the month of March for me!  Well, along with that and uprooting my life to move to my new job…but we’re all super human and do that without a hitch, right? HAHAH!  What do you have going on for the month of March?!?!?

When do you start your new job? And what all will you be doing (or maybe we need another Skype date so I can ask you all the nerdy, birdy questions about your new job). :)

Hmmm…for March I’m traveling. A lot. A WFA course down in Colorado this weekend, the Rivers and Wildlife Conference in centralish Nebraska next Thursday-Sunday, and then heading to Texas for the Dallas Fiber Fest at the end of the month. We’re launching an after-school nature club program later this month, I just submitted my first-ever grant, we’re hashing out final information for summer camp, and I’m starting to look ahead for the BIG grant I have to write this summer (to fund my position for the next three years). Oh, and starting to get out on my bike to train for the Triple Bypass in July (120 mile bike ride over the Rockies) and the Tour de Meers over Memorial Day Weekend (metric century of 62 miles). Ah well, keeps me busy and out of trouble, right? And it’s less busy than when I was an intern in Australia, which is another bonus.

And you’ve got some awesome things coming up!!! Are you still running in CA next month for that race?

  2. Woohoo! I’m so excited that you’re trying Insanity. Can’t wait to hear what you think. :)

For the month of March I am hunkering down on my novel. I have a goal to finish by my 25th birthday, and I am determined to stick to it.

I’ll definitely be checking out Earth hour, too!
