Thanks for Foodbuzz and the Foodbuzz Tastemakers Program I got some coupons for some Duncan Hines goodies and boy did I go to town with them! I’m getting ready to ship out holiday cookie boxes to friends and this is going to be one of the goodies inside!
It’s simple to make really, but a tad time consuming. First, collect your ingredients:
I didn’t picture the other ingredients it takes to make the cake, like canola oil, eggs and water, but follow the directions and you’re set! I did mine in a 9×13 pan and let it cool afterwards.
When it wasn’t hot, and I mean not even warm, I smashed it up in a bowl and added the entire can of frosting, mixed together and the dough was set! I used my hands to roll all the balls then stuck them in the freezer for a bit to let them harden.
I bought some almond bark and melted that according to the directions on the package. I used a spoon to get all the excess chocolate off while dropping it onto the wax paper, and putting a half a walnut on top! I was trying to figure out what to put on top and since I’m not creative and couldn’t make mini carrots, I just used the walnuts. They came out so cute!
I gave some away to Whit and his coworker and am ready to make some other varieties to send out to some of my friends!!! Just think…red velvet cake…or brownies…Hehe. This weekend will be filled with baking for sure!
