Post Burn

Remeber the fire that blazed South of my town a few months ago? Well, I finally got to go back into one of the canyons where the fire went through and my heart just broke. I seriously hate looking at the aftermath of nature destroying itself.

At least in some areas where there are a few trees left over I saw some happiness!

How huge are her ears!?  Wow!  They were so round, like Mickey Mouse!

Anyhow, work today was playing tour guide to some biologists and will be the same tomorrow.  It’s nice to actually have people with me in the car while I’m out in the field…it’s not often I have company!  But, I did pre-order the new Kelly Clarkson CD and it is AMAZING!  It has some great songs for running on it and I’m stoked to add them to my playlists!

Nothing much exciting other than that…I did make a good dinner if you want to see it:

Guesses on what’s in it?  It’s all leftovers and fresh produce from my organic box last weekend…Ok, it’s not hard to figure out: green beans, squash, onions, tempeh and a brown/white rice mix!  Great mix for a day that was full of so many carbs and starches (think cereal and tortilla chips…too.much.carbs.)

Sorry I’ve got nothing else exciting.  I have several Side Notes in the midst of being written and some good Birding Thursday posts coming up too!  Remember, if there is a bird or other animal you want to hear about let me know!

Wow those pictures are kind of spooky. Wildfires sure can transform a landscape, I remember seeing a huge burned patch in yellowstone when we went there. But good news I’d new life is on the way! Yay! :D

For some reason I can’t subscribe to your blog anymore! I thought I had, but nothing was showing up in your feed… and it’s saying there’s no feed! GRR!
