Kauai Birthday

Hey Everyone!!! Thanks for the birthday wishes thus far; I’m having a great day for sure!  I don’t have a ton of pictures to share since most of them are on Whit’s waterproof camera that died, and I don’t have the right card reader for it, boo!  But soon enough, I will share my embarrassing paddle boarding pictures and catching fish that don’t want to be caught!

Anyhow, for my birthday today, Whit and I headed out to the Napali Coast to get to the Hanakapi’ai Falls, an 8 mile round trip hike along lots of rocks and ridges of the island.  We started out super early to keep away from the crowds, and so there wasn’t has much heat of course.

(I’m sorry, still getting used to wordpress and I don’t know how to rotate the picture, if I can at all!)

The first part was a 2 mile hike to a beach, in which you had to cross a river to get to the trail to go up to the falls!

And that’s when Whit’s Mom’s camera died!  Ahh!  I was so sad…but still.  We hiked he 2 more miles up river to a rock face where the Hanakapi’ai Falls were and let me tell you, it was breathtaking..you know, because of all the crazy hiking.  Haha, I kid.  Or not.  Anyhow, it was a gorgeous site and I found a good picture someone had on their page:

It was much prettier up close and personal, but you know what, since I didn’t get a picture this time, it just means I have to come back and get one myself later! Yes!

Sorry to make this so short but I have to get dressed and ready for a luau…and let me tell you, if Whit makes me volunteer to dance, he’s a dead man.  Hahaha…but he has brownie points since he gave me a Kindle for my birthday! Yay!
