I’m glad everyone enjoyed last night’s Dear Body post. It hit me at some point during the day when I had a bit of time to think…which from the looks of it will happen quite often with my new job…thank goodness for books on tape and podcasts (like The Sporkful). Anyhow, I hope that when you read that post you took some time to thank your body like I did, and respect and appreciate it for what it is…
I mean, I’m thankful for my body because had it not been healthy enough, I couldn’t have walked almost 12 miles of surveys today! Ah!
Which led to an extremely empty belly…but more likely dehydrated. Chugging water NOW.
I knew today was going to be a very long day so I fueled up with a staple I knew would hold me over for hours:
Banana/Cinnamon/PB/Oats
I spent all morning doing work and finally broke for lunch around 11. I was exhausted and starving at that point!
I tried to find a more solid lunch with all the walking I do and seeing as how I’m promising to fuel my body with the things it needs, I enjoyed a real cheese, hummus and lettuce sandwich (my tomato got frozen! booo!)on my Shepherder’s Bread.
With carrots. And an orange.
Fannnnnnnnnnnntastic.
Oh yeah, here’s life in the desert for ya…
Anyone need a wall decoration? I can grab ya one for free. Or a vertebrae, or hip, or rib…your pick.
I finished up the surveys needed for today and had my new favorite snack: strawberries and apple with PB.
I returned home to feeling exhausted…and hangry after a bit. I had these one hand knowing they could be used in the microwave…or associated with it somehow. I had half the box of veg soup mixed with a handful of chickpeas and since the soup was a bit bland, I mixed in a bit of salsa to give it a kick.
Whoa nelly. Hottness in my mouth. Thank goodness for my bread to cool down my tongue.
And the last of my strawberries (all frozen, damnit!)…
And then, there was chocolate. The chocolate monster was ON FIRE! I repeated this awesomeness from yesterday:
Along with some extra chocolate chips and dried cranberries and raisins afterwards to boot.
No guilt there when in the past there might have been with copious amounts of chocolate consumption…I’m following my favorite quote today…and everyday thereafter:
“Live for today, not yesterday, or tomorrow.”
Now’s time for Gleeeee…and Gossip Girl. I got some catching up to do.

Don't you love that you get to stay so active with your job? I know for me, I just can't sit at a desk from 8 to 5, and I love that my profession involves lots of movement. Besides, our bodies were made to sit all day. They were made to move and enjoy chocolate. Glad you got in a little of both yesterday.
Hi Melissa,
Wow. You blow me away. You have an active job. You exercise besides that.
Ha…I just sit and yet eat so much more! Such is the irony of life.
Don't worry about the chocolate. Lately I have been really bad with it…serious emotional eating at its finest — as in 3 am chocolate-stash feeds (and a lot!)…I don't know if its stress or what – but its a lot!
oh my
Loving the "wall decoration"…you could deck out your apartment that way, then no one would ever want to mess with you! Chocolate every day is such a good thing, it helps you to appreciate the little things!
Lady, aren't you half Japanese? Where is your spice tolerance? Medium salsa? Hmmmmm, we need to work on this.
12 miles of survey-walking though? Holy crap.
ooooh I just started watching gossip girl (ok a couple of weeks ago) from the beginning. just getting started on season 2. LOVE IT!
I loooove that quote! It is so so very true. I tend to worry and stress so so much about the future that I don't stop to live in the moment.. and the moment can be so beautiful!
I wish I was able to walk that much during the day! My walking consists of going to the bathroom…
I have also had a few days of excessive chocolate consumption – I just keep telling myself that tomorrow is another day!
Oh, that cereal…you're killin me here! hiesi
Eeek! Animal skeletons!
I like how you spruced that soup up. Never thought to use salsa, but it's genious. And the berries look glorious.
