God what a morning.
Wake up to someone telling you your crew got stuck out in the field overnight and you’re not on a mission to save them.
Yes, great way to start the morning.
I was nervous as hell, worried like no other mother, and tried to stomach my oats in a jar…but it took me almost two hours. No picture because I had to get ready to save people in 15 minutes this morning. But I made sure to pack things to keep me steady since I would be out for the rest of the day in the field.
It was yet, another long day…
Anyhow, after the boat and crew rescue and debacle of madness, I was finally able to take a second and eat a snack. I totally hit up WF yesterday for their sale on Odwalla bars for $1, and you know I bought like…a
dozen few. As much as I don’t like almonds, and almond butter is growing on me, this bar is by far the best chewy bar out there. Hands down, I’d probably pay up to $3 for this baby! You much try it! I had a Jazz Apple along side it.
We set out to our awesome shade houses
Swamp Ape Circus Tents to set up Minnow traps to catch some fish…and as much as I like fishing…
But first, the wrap I made for lunch in 1 minute flat, in the dark this morning. Now that people, is talent. Oh yes indeedy.
Bought some whole wheat tortillas at WF to use instead of FlatOuts because they’re cheaper
and I’m poor for my lunch today which included lots of hummus and an assortment of vegetables.
On the side I had more veggies and some hummus. Veggies in the field make me feel better about what I eat…otherwise I’d consume a huge number of bars. Hah!
But, here are the little fishies I was dealing with today. As small as my finer tips or tops of my index fingers really. We might have killed a lot of them in the midst of measuring and it being so hot. Oops. They died for the sake of research.
It was a long and hot afternoon but I was nervous/anxious/excited to get home because I had a job interview…more details to come!
I was starving by the end of everything and munched on some pineapple while making the weirdest quesadilla ever.
I mixed up black beans with salsa, added some sautéed onions and asparagus, and topped it off w/ Cabot Cheddar Cheese. It was so thick I couldn’t make it into slices, so I ate it with fork and knife. Awesome no?
And finished off the night with a
few handfuls of my Sunprise Peanut Drops and extra raisins/cranberries…the pound I bought I’m sure is going to be gone in a few days…or tomorrow. Either way…
I’ve got another hard and long day in the field tomorrow…but I’m excited for my much deserved 4 day weekend this weekend! And I can’t wait to share with you what I’ve got planned!!! It’s super exciting!!!
