There was nothing exciting to report today, other than trying lots of new products by Newman’s Own Organics and decorating the Christmas Tree all by myself!
But make sure to tune in tomorrow morning, because I’ll have a link to the TV interview I had for Operation Beautiful!!! If you’re in Sacramento, it’s going to be aired on News10 between 5 and 7am!
Breakfast was nice and hot since it was a bit chilly this morning: 1/3C Kashi Go Lean Crunch, a diced apple, and 1T each Natural PB and TJ’s Cranberry Apple Butter.
In our family we have a tradition that every year each kid gets to pick a new ornament for the Christmas Tree. I thought I would share with you a few of the ornaments I’ve gotten over the years…you might see a trend…
(I played the piano for 9 years when I was younger)
Here was the tree all finished! It was a bit shorter than normal this year so I couldn’t put up as many ornaments, but that’s ok. I like all the unique ones instead of all the balls and whistles anyhow.
The majority of my morning was fixing that up and cleaning out space in my
storage room so I would have a place to sleep tonight (my brothers are coming home from Vegas since they just finished finals).
Lunch was a nice mix of new products! Mom bought these Earth Grain Sandwich Thins at Sam’s, where she normally gets Arnold’s Thins, but they were a buck cheaper. They have basically the same ingredient lists and nutritional information so I was happy that we could save a dollar!
I topped mine with a tablespoon of natural pb between the two, and then sprinkled on some of the dried fruit that Newman’s Own Organics provided me with in their recent package!
Dried Apples, Cinnamon and Peanut Butter…
Dried Cranberries, Cinnamon and Peanut Butter…
I really, really enjoyed these dried fruits, and the fact that they don’t have all the cruddy oils and sugars that some other dried fruits have! I normally eat Craisins by Ocean Spray, which aren’t too bad, but Newman’s are way better! I like that they’re nice and chewy and soft…I’m going to be sad when my bag runs out!
I also had some grapes to go along with the meal.
I took an early afternoon nap and woke up to screaming women on the Maury show (fell asleep watching news), which scared the crap out of me! Haha!
I was excited for my afternoon snack, because I mean, how could you not love the combo of 5 of these Espresso Chocolate Chip Cookies crumbled up…
mixed with a 1/4C of natural yellow popcorn popped in a brown paper bag in the microwave!
The melty chocolate was great all over the popcorn…and the cookies were good, but there was no espresso flavoring in mine. I really couldn’t taste it at all; it was like having a normal mini chocolate chip cookie. They were still yummy!
I went out with my mom to Sam’s to get some much needed groceries (since now there are going to be five people in the house instead of just two or three! Yay for family!) and got started on dinner!
I’ve been wanting couscous for a while so I prepped the Wild Mushroom CousCous by Middle East and mixed in lots of veggies including: broccoli slaw, onions, bell pepper, spaghetti squash, black beans and tomatoes. I love adding tomatoes in at the end when everything is hot and they’re cold!
And for dessert I had a few more grapes (finished off the bag!)
Now I’m off to keep packing up stuff and trying to create a room for myself.
I hope you had a good Monday!
Make sure to check in tomorrow for the Operation Beautiful Clip from News10!
