Smoother Sailing…

After all your wonderful comments today and yesterday I can’t help but be in a better mood. i was still struggling badly last night and kinda beating myself up over it, but i made myself concentrate on other things to get my mind off of it. After work i got home, ran a frustrating 5.5 miles, lifted some free weights, then got ready to go to Shakepspeare’s Pub with my friend and coworkers. I initially wasn’t going to go because i was so down in the dumps, but that kind of mentality has held me back from so many things in the past and i wasn’t going to let it start again now. So i had a quick lazy bfast for dinner kind of thing and headed out. i hung out for a few hours and had a ginger beer (non-alcoholic) which was really good. i had them all the time in australia and was addicted…if you haven’t tried it, it’s something new! some say it just tastes like 7up/sprite, but if you pause between sips you can def taste the ginger! i love it!

anyhow, thank you all again for your kind words. i plan on fighting hard today and beaching it after work…since the 59 minute rule is in effect…which means we get off of work 59 minutes early! yay!

…ok, i had pictures saved so i could do this post at work, but they disappeared…i’ll put them back in later at home but here is descriptions…

bfast; i finally did it! i had almond butter in my oatmeal! but since my almond butter has no oil in it, it didn’t melt/spread so i had like no almond butter taste in one bite, then overwhelming in the next. i’ll try it again w/ another nut butter later…but yes. had it with cranberries, banana, and lots of cinnamon…different! but i missed my crunch w/ my nuts!!!

snack later that morning was some pb puffins and 1/4 of the blueberry granola plank.

lunch was butternut squash soup from last weekend (sunday) with broccoli, corn, bell peppers and morningstar farms veggie crumbles…soooo good! with some kashi crackers and blueberries on the side.

had a chocolate raspberry luna bar before got off work…

workout!

dinner was kashi go lean and kashi go lean crunch w/ yogurt, white nectarine and strawberries. sooo yummy!

then had a ginger beer (damnit! i keep typing BEAR everytime i want to put BEER…LOL!) at the pub…

    Hooray for feeling better!!! Keep it up, Melissa – especially since the long weekend is here :0)

    You MUST try hazelnut-butter or pumpkin-seed-butter in your oatmeal – those are my top 2 favorite nut-/seed-butters (along with almond-butter and sunflower-seed-butter). Here’s the brand that I swear by for ALL of those:

    Ok, reading your blog has just given me a lot of great meal/snack ideas. I love how many of your meals are quick and easy– that’s definitely my style.

    Oh, and can I just say that I really admire how you are so honest on your blog? I bet you really help a lot of girls (and maybe guys too… I don’t want to stereotype) by being so honest. Your blog is a joy to read.
