I’ve been stressing out about a few things lately so today I tried to focus on playing it cool and staying calm, esp when I felt it all starting to build up…

I did some fun traveling at work today on the base w/ some of the marines tho! At work I’m doing a lot of database management so I’ve been having to go out in the field to verify different buildings and such. So, today, I got to go out to the EOD and HE Magazine area. What do they mean? EOD stands for explosive ordinance detail and HE Magazine stands for Highly Explosive Magazine area. CRAZY!!!! The first set of marines that I worked with at the EOD are the guys that basically go out and keep bombs from blowing up! These guys (and gals!) are tough and you gotta have some guts and heavy nerves to be able to go up and de-rig a bomb…that could blow you to pieces! Geez! And the other marines I worked with are the ones that keep all the highly explosive stuff in safe spots so that I don’t have to worry about being blown up. Ah, what great marines. Anyhow, it was pretty rad going out there and see all the things they do and how difficult it is! Props to them and serving our country!!!

I’m still working on a piece on ED recovery for all of you but i’m still trying to think of what to call the section….any suggestions? I’m stuck.

Ok, here’s the eats. Nothing too exciting, except for something new at dinner; but I was super lazy today…again, trying to take it easy…

Hahaha…I liked my bfast so much yesterday I had it again! I promise you’ll see something different tomorrow…though I’m tempted for it again…i like munching!!

Snack around 10 was strawberries w/ almond butter and yogurt…

Starting eating lunch but then found out I was being picked up in 10 mintues to go out to the EOD and HE Mags so all I got to eat was the mango part!

I finally got back around 3 and was dying…I get really bad hunger headaches and usually aren’t hungry anymore and will just ignore it, but it was so bad this time I had to eat! So I had the last of my morningstar farm veggie bites…these are soooo good…i just wish i had had some ketchup!

Then got home and FINALLY got to go for some cardio, ie walking and running. I ended up doing some intense intervals in the midst of runing…and FYI, when it comes to me and running, I love to run straight through the distance…I feel like taking breaks, even at lights, and resting or having to walk, makes me feel like I failed the run. I don’t know why I have that mentality but it’s been like that since high school x-country…maybe that was the mentality back then? i don’t know, but it’s stuck w/ me…and i’m trying to get over it; because intervals are actually fun when you don’t force yourself too often and burn out! I don’t know how long I went for, but it was enough, and probably a little too much for being my first day out running/walking in, oh, what, FOUR DAYS!?!?! I’m crazy…But then I somehow convinced myself that I needed to swim too…So i went down to the pool and swam and did some pool stretches for a good 30 minutes…crazy me…

Again, lazy for cooking so I had one of Amy’s veggie pot pies that’s been in my freezer for a while…I haven’t had a pot pie in years since I at the marie callender’s ones back in hs (and omg i look at the nutr info on those…i could cry there’s so much sodium!!). But this one was SOOOOOOOOO GOOOOOOD!!! nice and creamy inside and i added some extra veggies for a little umf. It was super good though! Maybe just a little more sauce…and it would have been perfect!

Then, I needed some chocolate…and some more fruit…so I had the apple and sf chocolate pudding…i did dip, but it just wasn’t right, so i had them seperate….still yummy tho! maybe i should have had one of my bananas… :_O

K, off to work on my entry for all of you later! Hopefully sooner rather than later…ack…time is of the essence…geez…

PS oh yeah! and me and my dad got me a beach cruiser! i have yet to see it because he bought it up at home (he works for toyota and they’re going to give him a $75 fitness reembursment for buying a bike!) so I get to see it when I go home this weekend…but i do know it’s red and gold…HOTTNESS!!! hahahah…

Hooray for the beach cruiser! I love mine.

Hah – that is definitely a XC mentality. It used to KILL ME if someone passed me out on a run, even if it was just an “easy run”. That passed pretty quickly after my injury though (when I was happy to just be running at all)!

I’m still workin’ on it – I miss being the fastest. ;) Yayy for intervals!

Aw! All of your food looks delicious. I love the idea of strawberries, yogurt and a little peanut or almond butter. The combo sounds incredible! I’m sorry that you’ve been stressed lately! Hopefully the workouts are helping lower that stress level. Your job sounds really interesting!!

Wow, those marines who have to de-rig the bombs are so brave. I could never imagine being in that position!

That vegetable pot pie does look pretty yummy! Pot pies used to be my favorite growing up…now I realize how much sodium was in them – YIKES!!

Ooh a beach cruiser?! Exciting!! I hope you have some fun with it this weekend!
